New Miami-Dade County Ordinance Prohibits “Wage Theft”. The ordinance requires employers to pay employees that perform work in the County their wages (or any portion of wages of at least $60) within a “reasonable time” of the employee performing the work. A “reasonable time” is presumed to be no more than fourteen (14) days. This new ordinance applies to all private employers with employees working in Miami-Dade County, regardless of the physical location of the employer.
